Check Out the Threads

A friend who reads this site just told me that he wasn't aware that there was anything going on in the comments sections, and so he just reads the posts, not the threads. The comments sections at this site rock, and if you're not reading them, you're missing out. Check out the conversation going on in the post below, for example. The conversation there blows away my original post.

The traffic here has skyrocketed lately, even though I don't post that much anymore. Anyone know why? It's kind of surprising.

because I told everyone how attractive and insightful snark is.

and cool, too.

I suspect it's because most online poetry sites or blogs are exclusively dedicated to the shameless self-promotion of the author and his/her friends. Rarely do you find any real insight into poetry(except, of course, the author's/author's friend's/author's girlfriend's/author's friend's boyfriend's crappy efforts...). Even some of the self-professed po-mo's out there suffer from the very same verbal diarrhea and intellectual douchebaggery they love to complain about in others...

I think there's also a world of difference between mean-spirited, humorless ranting(most of the rest) and the very funny ego-pricking that goes on here.

Keep milkin' that cow!
