Poetry Foundation and the New Yorker

The NYT offers a misguided defense of Poetry magazine's 200 million dollar endowed Poetry Foundation, coupled with a devastating and well deserved attack on the poetry publishing practices of The New Yorker. Check it out.

You can add to The New Yorker's catalog of questionable practices Christian Wiman's doggerel in the latest issue. The fact that he's the current editor of Poetry is, I'm sure, entirely coincidental.
