Why so few posts?

Every time I notice something snark-worthy passing by in poe-biz--things like the cover of the latest Fence, some really serious shit goes down like Katrina or the Roberts confirmation, and the snark just doesn't seem worth it. If only I was as persistent and mean as H.L. Mencken. Here are a few comments that seem even more true now than they did when he wrote them:

  • Democracy is the theory that holds that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.

  • Every election is a sort of advance auction sale of stolen goods.

  • Nature abhors a moron.
Amen.

Ah, Fence. Today my neighbor shot me this look like I was headed straight from the mailbox inside to wank it to what she thought was hardcore pornography. Showing her the poems inside left me even more embarrassed.

So is Fence on the way out? I remember when George Magazine tried a similar stunt--JFK junior, crouched all nude and contemplative on its cover--and then promptly disappeared.

And what will that caffeinated blowhard Steve Evans say? To his very perceptive mind, this must, like, totally prove that FENCE wants to turn a profit! I can't wait for the ensuing mayhem that's sure to shake the lives of 13 people...

Here, here, my chappies, be weary of the pandering thumbsuckers, yes, yes, whose poetry is the wiz of the down syndromed panda bear. O lachrymose bear! O thou tarnished thing! O the ghosts sing nothing!

Beautiful, young, and poetic. I have recently started blogging, and posting some of my original works. Take a look and let me know what you think. http://naked-superstar-sapphire-ninja.blogspot.com/ Be gentle. :) I would really like to find a way to give the art of poetry some PR. Bring back the enthusiasm and appreciation of language as an art form.

Hallelujah! (Harold Pinter Wins the Nobel Prize)

Hallelujah!
It works.
He impressed the shit out of them.

Praise the Lord for all good things.

(Not including Pinter's poetry then,
which isn't much cop.)

Now I want George Bush to come over here
and kiss him on the mouth.

(The early plays are all right though.)

ah, they're just incompetent hipsters. anyone who has to be bullied into snarking isn't going to do it right anyways.
and the serious shit excuse is just plain lame -- a way of saying that because you can't deal with things on the largest scale, there's no point in trying to deal with anything.

they've been dead for months now, but i think they're less lame silent than they were when they were grousing.

Hey, Anonymous.

If you think we're full of shit, why have you been keeping up with our site for months and months?

Are you an everyday reader?

Do you read from a place of self-loathing?

I think you're less lame when you're silent, in the garage, shoving a wet hamburger up your urination conduit.

With mustard.

As long as Carol Snow is, Snark is.

What language from a "young brilliant mind" sorry to say you slime will never go away as long as people lack education and respect for others. Maybe you should start trying to get your poems published where they take everyone’s little poems so you won't feel left out and all alone. I am not finished with you poetry snark. and if you would like to direct some insults to my face or my wives face please do it the AWP conference in march lets have a heart to hear talk over a cocktail and speak as human beings. I suspect you are too cowardly to do so, you will continue with your neurosis like Alan Cordling and bitch and complain even though his wife had a book taken by a professor she had (did she sleep with her professor I wonder. Alan this is a challenge to you as well have an actual conversation with those that you are slinging mud; alas you are a coward as well. As the web provides you with the biggest soap box in the world, and it distances you from the fact that actual people exist on the other end of what you are writing. O I forgot someone with the mental capacity of a 12 year old would think that the world revolves around them.

Whooo hooo -- nutcase alert. Peter "Strange" Yumi can't write a complete sentence in English, so it's hard to take him seriously. You're gonna be sorry you pissed him off, Snark. He's a scary guy.

By the way, WTF are you talking about Peter? First of all, my wife has never had a book "taken by a professor she had." WTF would I be running Foetry.com if she had? Maybe you're just worried about how close Karla was to Ramke . . .
